Tundra Science
K-5
LKSD utilizes a localized and translated K-5 science curriculum for our students. The textbooks are based on TCi's Bring Science Alive! but are tailored to create more local relevance for our students.
The teachtci.com website can be used to support lessons and for supplemental materials. There are plastic tote resource kits from TCI that contain materials for labs and experiments that correlate with the textbook. Resources can be found in the LKSD Resource Library and within the pages of the curriculum warehouse.
At DLE sites, science is in taught in Yugtun for 45 minutes daily.
At Non-DLE sites, science is in taught in English for 45 minutes daily.
